Ocula is designed to help users manage information related to their contact lenses, including replacement schedules, wear history, lens supply, prescription details, reminders, and related information.
Your privacy is important to us. Ocula is designed as a primarily local-first application, meaning that most information you enter is stored directly on your device.
Information Stored in Ocula
Depending on how you use the app, Ocula may store information such as:
- Your first name or display name
- Contact lens brand and replacement schedule
- Lens cycle start dates
- Contact lens wear history
- Lens supply quantities
- Prescription information you manually enter
- Doctor or eye care information you choose to enter
- Prescription expiration or exam dates
- Prescription PDF or image files that you choose to attach
- Notification and appearance preferences
Local Storage
Ocula is designed to store your lens-related information locally on your device. Ocula does not require you to create an account in order to use the app.
Prescription documents or photos that you choose to attach are stored locally within the app's storage on your device unless otherwise stated in a future version of the app.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, Ocula may schedule local notifications for features such as lens replacement reminders, low lens supply alerts, and prescription expiration reminders.
Notification permissions are controlled by your device's operating system and can be changed at any time in iOS Settings.
Purchases
Ocula may offer optional paid features through Ocula Pro.
In-app purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and StoreKit services. Ocula does not directly receive or store your payment card or billing information.
Widgets
If you use Ocula widgets, limited app information such as your remaining lens-cycle days or lens supply may be shared between the Ocula app and its widget extension through Apple's App Group storage on your device.
Data Sharing
Ocula does not sell your personal information.
Ocula does not currently operate its own cloud account system or upload your prescription information, lens history, or prescription documents to an Ocula server.
Analytics and Diagnostic Information
Apple may provide developers with aggregated or diagnostic information relating to app performance, crashes, purchases, or App Store usage depending on your Apple privacy settings.
Ocula does not use this information to access the contents of your prescription documents.
Deleting Your Data
Ocula includes controls that allow you to clear certain categories of stored information, including wear history, supply information, prescription information, and all app data.
You may also remove Ocula from your device to delete locally stored app data, subject to normal iOS behavior.
Purchases made through the App Store may remain associated with your Apple ID even after Ocula's local app data is deleted.
Children's Privacy
Ocula is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an Ocula account system.
Health Information Disclaimer
Ocula is intended as an organizational and tracking tool and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or an eye examination.
Always follow the instructions of your optometrist, ophthalmologist, contact lens manufacturer, or other qualified healthcare professional.

This Privacy Policy may be updated as Ocula changes. Updates will be reflected on this page along with a revised "Last updated" date.
